The Adult Learn To Curl program had its grad celebration last week, with lots to celebrate! We had 27 curlers in the program this year! A big thank you goes especially to Louise Lance who cheerfully organized and led the program, to Lisa Donovan who provided such valuable instruction, and to the dozen volunteers who came out each week to help!
As part of the final session's festivities, a Hot Shots competition was held, with the team of Keitha Corry, Kelsey Atkins, Melissa Hermann, and Erin O'Connor emerging victorious and taking home trophies!
In the ALTC program, curlers learned how to deliver a rock (either the sliding or stick delivery), sweep, and score a game, as well as curling etiquette and a bit about strategy during this 9-week 18-hour program.
Our new curlers are well prepped for the Rookie League which starts on Monday January 12 at 7 pm!
Curlers in their first two years of the sport should mark Saturday March 21 on their calendars -- that's the date of the Rookie Bonspiel, which is open to new curlers in our club and in other clubs too!
